What is Bean?
Let’s face it, managing your finances is boring and takes ages. It is the last thing we want to do with our free time. However, bad financial habits create unnecessary and significant hardships that derail us from living our lives to the fullest.
Our aim every day is to make your life that bit easier, helping you to avoid some of these hardships by combining recent discoveries in behavioural psychology with technology.
Who are we?
Meet the Bean founders
Peter has a decade of experience in corporate strategy and first witnessed the issues plaguing the subscription economy while working as Head of Strategy at Zoopla and uSwitch. It became clear to him that there was a massive discrepancy between those trying to afford a home and the relatively small number of people optimising their bills through proactive switching. He’s on a mission to build a tool that bridges this gap and takes the time and hassle out of managing your finances.
Jamie has spent the past thirteen years developing complex technical systems and managing and scaling technical teams. With what can only be described as strong social views, he’s dedicated to building products that make lives better and has spent the three months of the Barclays Accelerator building Bean, a product that does just that.
Bean identifies every recurring payment, across multiple accounts and allows a consumer to track, switch and cancel anything reported. This is all without ever having to speak to another customer service agent, taking time and hassle out of the process of saving money, every day. Sounds pretty good, right?
